It's official

It's official. Adam is now in the Air Force, and we couldn't be prouder of him. We were able to attend his swearing in on May 4th at the Military Processing Center in downtown Houston. He was assigned as travel leader for the group as they travel to San Antonio to begin basic training which will be for the next 2 months at Lackland Air Force Base.

ready and waiting.....

Yep...we're still here, I mean in the Houston, Texas. Because of a new law in the Czech Republic requiring an insurance waiver for any non citizen residing in the country for more than two months. Because of this new law, the visa applications weren't sent in until February 20th and it takes 3 to 5 months to process them. With that said, our new date is June 14th. This has actually turned out to be a "tender mercy."

We both love working outside so we were able to spend a lot more time than would otherwise have been possible. The tropical plants down here didn't appreciate the freezing weather we experienced this past winter.

Melissa and Erick were married April 9th 2010 in the Houston LDS Temple.

All the kids and grandkids were here for the celebration.
The following week we traveled to New York for Melissa and Erick's open house and to visit with the Avila's.
After the open house, we visited the Palmyra, New York and Sharon, Vermont and the church history sites there. A highly recommended activity for anyone preparing for a mission.
